The Public Library Services Branch invites you to attend the
LIBRARY BOARD BASICS WORKSHOP
to be held
Saturday, May 24, 2014
from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
at Penhold and District Library
Waskasoo Avenue, Penhold Regional Multiplex
This workshop is open to all library trustees, library managers and library system staff. It is designed to help launch participants on a path to good public library service delivery by enhancing their knowledge of the Libraries Act and Regulation and other pertinent legislation. In particular, participants will understand:
- The Alberta library network in context
- Library board roles, responsibilities and relationships
- Other important issues such as finances and effectiveness.
In order to reserve your seat, please register before Friday, May 18, 2014. There is no fee for the workshop. Participants will receive a workbook and other support materials, snacks, and lunch. Other meals, travel, and any required accommodation will be the participant’s responsibility.
